This innovative and responsive exhibition opened one year after New York was shuttered from the COVID-19 pandemic. The design utilized the natural act of viewing that occurs across the rotunda’s void by suspending a movie-theater sized projection screen, allowing for a series of video screenings from the museum’s collection. Benches were installed with ample distance along the ramps, where one-way circulation could also be accommodated.
