This ambitious exhibition brought together over 150 masterpieces of ancient Chinese art and touted unprecedented loans. With a checklist predominantly consisting of sculpture—rare ceramics, metalwork, textiles, sculpture, painting, calligraphy, and architectural models—the layout needed to accommodate a high amount of climate controlled casework, platforms, and generous circulation routes inviting perspectival views as much as close inspection.
