Eva Hesse: Expanded Expansion
Eva Hesse: Expanded Expansion
Exhibited for the first time in 35 years, and having undergone an extraordinary conservation initiative, this exhibition’s centerpiece highlighted Eva Hesse’s Expanded Expansion. Originally intended to fold and be manipulated, the piece now rests sculptural but still with gravity, and was shown alongside material samples, sketches, investigations, and studies by this highly inventive artist. Documentation from the decades-long conservation project was also on display.
