Christian Nyampeta: Sometimes It Was Beautiful
As a part of a three-cycle post-pandemic exhibition we designed and suspended a giant double sided projection screen within the rotunda’s void. Christian Nyampeta’s 2018 film, Sometimes It Was Beautiful, also included furniture designed by the artist inspired by his childhood schools growing up in Rwanda. The darkened ramps, bathed in red light, revealed enlarged sketches on the walls as well as soundscapes and other activations.
