Deana Lawson, Centropy: The Hugo Boss Prize
Guggenheim Museum, New York,
2021
On the award of the Hugo Boss Prize in 2020, Deana Lawson’s exhibition highlighted a selection of her large scale, environmental, sublime, and dynamic photographs, all encased in bespoke mirror frames and some of which also included embedded holograms. A central hologram on display portrayed the mathematical form of a torus, symbolically collecting and emitting the energy of the surrounding subjects.
