Sara Berman’s Closet
Metropolitan Museum, New York,
2017
This exhibition recreated the highly organized closet of Sara Berman, an immigrant living in Greenwich Village from 1982–2004. Small in scale and populated with only white items, it reflects a steadfast, modest lifestyle, especially in comparison to many of the other well-known period rooms on permanent display at the Met.
