Intervals was a multi-year series of installations where artists were invited to temporarily engage with the building in experimental and innovative ways.

Julieta Aranda sited her installation within the Guggenheim’s triangular stairwell, quieter and visually separated from the ramps where it could begin to physically meld with the building. Messages in phosphorous paint were revealed on the walls and a peep-hole disguised within the architecture displayed a camera obscura where sand flows up, questioning notions of time, mortality, and temporality.
